Are the 2.3 rear hubs the same as 2.9 24V i.e the chunk with the bearing in it?

Pretty sure they are...and the same as Mk3 Granada and Sierra with rear disc brakes.

Jolly good, saves a bit for bearing change then as found a very good one, and after last attempt decided to go a much easier route, (think it was welded in)

The 2.3 & 24V hub/bearing carriers are different I'm affraid  ;) ......The 24V has bigger discs, therefore has taller caliper bolt hole 'ears' on the hub carrier  :)

I thought it was just cossies that had the bigger discs...273mm. The wifes 2.3 estate (pre-facelift) has exactly the same size rear vented discs as my 2.3 facelift saloon....253mm  :)
