First off, the tensioner pulley or roller on the tensioner, the bearings are noisy on mine! can this be replaced without removing the rad? i can get a spanner on it i thing, but is there a locknut the other side?

Next, do many owners use fully synthetic oil in these engines? like Mobil 1

No lock nut,best remove the unit from the engine,large allen bolt in the centre,easier on the bench,no need to remove the rad.
Regarding oil,unless you have a new engine I can't see the benefit of lashing out on expensive oil,and not much benefit if your engine is new 8)
