Title: Legal advice needed Post by ALAN on Dec 14th, 2010, 11:45pm Hi, still got the on-going problem with the car cutting out when hot, took it into garage( i drove it in) they ran round in it till it cut out to see if they could find the fault, i had to give them petrol money. Anyway they couldnt find the fault so they looked at the wiring and opened up some wires then put it back together, this was about 4wks ago since then it now wont even start. It has been standing since and i keep getting fobbed off with excuses why they havent done anything eg, frozen up, bloke didnt turn up etc. I just had new brake discs etc and now afraid they will seize up. its just standing rotting away. Anyone know what i can do, :( |

Title: Re: Legal advice needed Post by scorpio_man on Dec 16th, 2010, 9:45am hi there make sure they've put on all the leads back on the battery. a wee black one is the one that's missed most times. without this, the car won't start. then get your car away from them and take to someone who knows what they're doing. re the cutting out, might be the wiring to the EDIS unit. |

Title: Re: Legal advice needed Post by ALAN on Dec 16th, 2010, 10:29pm It wont start as they messed with the wiring, so it wont go and therefore i drove it in but now they cant drive it back home to me. thanks |

Title: Re: Legal advice needed Post by scorpio_man on Dec 17th, 2010, 7:57am hi alan yep, i read your bit about it not starting, but are you saying that the garage set about the wiring with the battery still connected? (do see where i'm going about the wee black wire) if they messed with the wiring with the battery still connected, then they've probably shorted a few circuits. they need to check ALL fuses in BOTH fuse boxes. one other thing, is it turning over and refusing to start or not turning over at all? hth |
