Hi.

I found this led under a plastic cap on my dashboard, anyone know what that is for?

My car is a Scorpio 2,9 12v from 93´

Hope it is a fault code led, but i doubt it;-)

Ok:) sounds right, but my key dosen´t have a transponder "the red thing"

Does the LED light up at any time? Like when you lock and unlock the car. Although may only be visible in the dark.

Does it flash every couple of seconds when car is locked? Again best visible at night

It lights up for about 10 sec when i turn on the ignition. Nothing happens when i lock or unlock the car.

Must have a transponder or it wiill not start car surely

A transponder maybe taped to the column and a blank key used to turn ignition.

If the second, someone must have taped a transponder inside the steering column shell. (?) One way round it I suppose.

The LED not flashing while locked means the alarm doesn't work. Usual reason is a fault with one of the door, boot or bonnet switches.

93? Is it a Granada Scorpio?

Yes, it is a Granada Scorpio MK3 not a Scorpio 95
