Title: Brake discs - life expectancy?
Post by Pegasus on Feb 20th, 2011, 4:46pm
Hi All,
what's the experience of life of the discs (Cosworth)?

My rears are original and still have 19+mm on them (20mm new, 18mm=change). Done 82k.

Had to change the fronts at 62k.

Paul

How long is a peice of string?

It all depends on several factors . How heavy you are when you use the brakes, types of driving and speeds. Some people use a lot of brakes others hardly ever wear them out.

I agree Dave - horses for courses.

I avoid heavy breaking as much as I can, even when I'm moving at 3000rpm  ;) though most is in town or short trips

Just want to get an idea of others experiences.
