Title: Re: Roof Bars Post by Highlander on Feb 24th, 2011, 9:30am Are there bolts on them?? Mine have a built in locking arm which are pushed shut then locked by the key... The Granada ones had bolts....? ****EDIT**** I noticed Kev has a saloon, saloon roof bars have bolts, i can go back to sleep ;D |

Title: Re: Roof Bars Post by Baz on Feb 24th, 2011, 9:33am These are Saloon ones Stuart. They fit into the bolt holes behind the rubber grommets in the door shuts along the roofline. Dont cut out the rubber cut outs though Kev, I used to put the bars behind them so I didn't have holes on show. You can put tape between the paint and the rubber to stop any scratching Just took photos now.... won't be long! |

As you can see, there is also a plastic washer which I guess stops any scratches. Baz |

Title: Re: Roof Bars Post by Baz on Feb 25th, 2011, 8:33am depends if you intend to leave them on for long periods. Mine never rusted when I had them on, even for a few weeks at a time going to France etc. |

Title: Re: Roof Bars Post by amigafan2003 on Feb 25th, 2011, 11:58am Stainless bolts aren't very strong - not asure if I'd want a heavy roof rack to be secured by them. |
