Post by Steve_Stelex on Apr 6th, 2011, 8:07pm
Hi all,
ive got myself another scorpio 95 v6 AT, and want to put the engine into my 1991 sierra shell, but i dont think the gearbox will fit. Does anyone know about this??

and Secondly.
Is there any manual gearbox i can fit to the scorpio engine for rwd in the sierra???? that will bolt straight into the sierra tunnell?

Any advice would be really appretiated.

Regards
Steve.

It can all be done.

Does/did your Sierra have a type 9 or MT75?

I think you will need some modification to the gearbox mountings and propshaft if you intend to keep the autobox.

There were a few manual V6 MT75 boxes made but very rare and very expensive.

The usual/cheapest procedure is to mate the bellhousing off a V6 4x4 box (Sierra/Granada) to the rear end of a RWD MT75 box.

p.s. This site has a lot more info.

If you use a Sierra autobox mount and auto propshaft it will just nut bolt in without modification to a 91 model .

Or for a manual look for an XR4i  rwd gearbox prop & flywheel
