By which I mean, some initial resistance on first pressing the pedal - this means the butterflies need oiling right?

I have the same Mike. Was not on my last scorpio. Did wd40 the linkage but still the same. Lee

If you remove the air intake trunking from the throttle body the butterfly is accessible.The circumference gets mucky and cleaning with carb cleaner sometimes helps. There is a sticker in the throttle body advising you NOT to clean the body as it has a special coating on it. ;)

Ta that's about what I thought.

I wasn't going to use bleach or anything like that! But a bit of a clear out might be in order. http://livinginthepast-audioweb.co.uk/images/misc/th_thumbsup.gif

Doesn't do it all the time, only occasionally when been standing for a while. But has been like that on and off for some time TBH
