20 MINUTES ago, i got a email from the forum stating my email address had been verified, i opened it and aol went berserk, and would not shut down, i did not know thetre was any problem with my email address, i am not a new member! just thought i would post this to see the name on the email, hopefully i'll be back shortly,

i am back, and the name was les giuliano, i had two before this from iankirkup@sky, both also saying my email address has now been confirmed, any one know what it's all about please?

Just me then? obviously i am not accusing anyone, just trying to prevent a problem for others, 2 of those emails were forwarded! perhaps one hijacked! anyone else had a problem?

I got the same 3 emails but they didnt cause any problems.

I got the same three as well but nothing flagged up with my AV (Avast).

Thanks guys, must be just me then i guess, fingers crossed, ive got Norton, windows defender, system mechanic, had to restart 4 times before it appears normal, sorry if i upset anyone,

Have you got malwarebytes installed on your computer ?
If not download and install the free version and run a scan......It's very good at finding dodgy stuff.......

The forum does not send emails. Any emails authorising accounts either come from Scorpio Man or from Snoopy.

It rather sounds like someone you know has had their email address book compromised.
I suggest you follow the advice about Malbytes ware
It can be downloaded from HERE (http://www.malwarebytes.org/mbam-download.php) Remember to do updates before doing a scan. and follow the instructions. if it asks for a restart do it immediately otherwise some problems may not be removed.
If you want any further help copy the log it generates and send it to me, and I will look at it for you.

Can I just add that its a good idea to take your computer off line before doing a scan (once you have the updates). I have had some machins that have re-downloaded the virus/trojan during the scan which can take over an hour on slow machines.

PS scans will be quicker if you delete your temp internet files etc
