Title: IGN Key reader & EECV Post by lesterlad aka Rodders on Aug 14th, 2011, 12:38pm I am getting rid of my doner car tomorrow but before it goes I am taking the ign barrel out and the PATS reader that fits around it, do i need to take the EECV out as well so one matches the other if they are used for another car ? Have been offered £150 for just the shell/engine/gearbox, everything else is in the shed for use as spares so I thought while the scrap prices are high (plus the Mrs is moaning about it ::) ) it's got to go. Title: Re: IGN Key reader & EECV Post by Dave2302 on Aug 15th, 2011, 8:39am Rod, AFAIK, (and I've done PATS to death LOL), it is the key that is coded to the PATS, not the reader. Depending on your car some have a separate PATS module and some have PATS in the ECU, so if it's a separate type then the key, (or at least the chip), must go with the module, if built in, keep it with the ECU ;) HTH, Dave |

IIRC the PATS unit is the unit below the EECV and you need to drill out the rivets in order to remove it. ;) |
