Title: Removing wishbone Post by Kenboy on Aug 29th, 2011, 1:51pm At present I am in the process of trying to remove wishbone I have taken off 18mm nut from the pinch bolt were the ball joint is and for the life of me cannot get the bolt out, at the other end of the bolt ts an allen head does this indicate that the bolt/pin is threaded all the way and needs unwinding or is it a pin with lots stubborn rusted up crud. a quick reply would be really helpful. Cheers Kenboy |

Title: Re: Removing wishbone Post by Matt on Aug 29th, 2011, 4:03pm Its just being stubbern mate, a good soak in wd40 should see it work free, you could also try and open the pinch a little by tapping a chisel or screwdriver in the slot |

Title: Re: Removing wishbone Post by gozz on Aug 30th, 2011, 9:45am Kenboy. Don't forget the wheels should be on the ground and rolling position assumed before tightening the front and back large nuts,if you do it whilst it is jacked up the bushes will be overstressed and suffer premature failure. If you don't have means of getting under the car, leave the nuts loose, move it back and forth a couple of times to let it settle, then put your arm under with a ring spanner and nip em up. GOZZ. |
