Post by Kenboy on Aug 29th, 2011, 8:24pm
You may have seen my post on removing wishbone but a strange thing has happened after jacking up car and making secure tried to lock but all windows opened (Global Closing) and now will not return to the closed postion on top of that i am unable to lock the car either using key or remote tried resetting to no avail, disconnected the battery for a while again to no avail after many attempts I had no choice but polythene up the window spaces in case of rain removed any valuables and chanced the local nurds don,t try there luck, perhaps things will right there selves after fitting wishbone and driving around for a while, as this happened to anyone else if so why and how to rectify.

The only logical thing that comes to mind is water in the fusebox. Could it be that that there was water in the area beneath the fusebox, probably on the drivers side, and jacking up has caused it to flood the fusebox?. That box has the fuses 22, Door locking and 25 and 26 for the windows.  28 for the rear windows. ;)

hi there

iirc, it's something to do with crash roll over protection.

again, trying to recall, it's linked to the fuel cut off switch so that in an accident, the doors will unlock so you can be rescued.

something like that anyway.

Presume the whole front end was elevated, so leaning backwards?

Next thing to try is, does it do it again while pointing up a steep hill? ;D

No really, could still be water under the fuse box welling up at the back (?)
