Just purchased my first diesel auto estate. Running it on my own WVO which is awesome.These diesel autos are rare even by Scorpio levels. The box is u/s. So, going to fit another. Question is, how feasible is it to fit a A4LDE instead of the current A4LDe. I know the PCM's differ but, will i need to work around the EEC IV and EECV problem. If so, how? Loom etc.. I only ask as i have a nest of A4LDE's Thanks.Adam.

Don't bother, far too much hasle, fit the correct box, or get your unit re built, it will be cheaper and far mor successful :)

Thanks Gozz, i appreciate your help. Out of curiosity does anyone rebuild auto boxes here. If so, what would be the cost of a rebuild. I have an abundance of spares if other parts are required as an exchange for labour. Thanks Adam

Dave who posted earlier is/was an auto specialist whos done a few rebuilds

He lives right up in scotland though and hes pretty busy with other projects atm but i dont think it would hurt to ask :)

If you get the box couriered up to me and back again I'll do it for £450 all in with a 12 month / 12000mile guarantee ;)

That goes for any Scorpio Auto Box, as long as its not been stripped / bits missing !!

You will have to get the converter rebuilt as well, about £120 plus postage, but I can arrange that for you, will be cheaper to get it couriered direct to you, than sent up here then back to you ;)

You will also need an old electric pump, tubing, and some parrafin to flush out your oil cooler and lines as well as compressed air to blow them thru afterwards ;)

You sure the box is definitely u/s, not something else making it seem like? The Scorps can be tricky like that ;D
