Title: Front Brakes
Post by PJDavis on Nov 26th, 2011, 5:31pm
Not that I'm particularly perturbed, but that wee 'shimmy' is back at the front when braking lightly at around 50mph.   The wheels are balanced, and it happens with both sets of wheel anyway.   The last set of discs and pads were put on at about Five thousand miles ago and were Mintex, yes I've done the usual heavy braking down from about 100 mph to make sure the rear brakes are doing some work as well, no none of the brakes are sticking.   I'm not that bothered because it's only when I'm braking, and only at about 50mph, also I've got a new set of discs/pads waiting for me at 'The Old Bare-Footers house.

In the distant future, I just wondered if it would be worth getting a pair of 24V Cosworth Front Calipers and fitting them along with the bigger discs and pads?   Presumably the 24V stuff will fit on my 2.3 if properly converted?

All answers welcome!

Peter

Peter, is the front suspension sound? Balljoints, bushes...etc  maybe having a detrimental effect....

Well Adam, I've been thinking along those lines maybe.
