Title: Front bumper removal Post by Scorpio_Mike on Dec 2nd, 2011, 1:22pm How simple is it to remove the front bumper on a Scorpio ? I'm going to be putting it in a garage for the winter and after a 'test fit' have discovered the car is about 6 - 7 inches too long...or maybe the garage is too short :-[ Can probably shorten the car by a couple of inches by removing the towball...but that won't be quite enough. |

Title: Re: Front bumper removal Post by Matt on Dec 2nd, 2011, 2:47pm Easy job mike Theres 2 screws in each of the wheel arches, then 4 bolts accessable from the bonet (covers next to the headlights need to be taken off), give the bolts a good soak in wd40 as ive know them just to 'spin' You just have the looms to the indicators and fog lights and if you have them a pipe to the headlight washers You can also pinch another inch from removing the grill |

Title: Re: Front bumper removal Post by Simmo on Dec 2nd, 2011, 5:43pm Any one recall the large guy laying under a car doing this at Harewood a few years ago. He didn't much like being 'advised' by the young lady friend of one of our members about the self tappers. In his haste the bumper fell on him much to the amusement of those watching! ;D IIRC he was doing a favour for a gent whose bumper had a neat hole in the F/N/S where he'd collided with a Kestrel. Happy Days. |
