Title: Exhaust Pipe problem...not strictly Ford
Post by bonnietiler on Dec 2nd, 2011, 11:15pm
I have a little Winter car made by a company begining with V, It cost very little and its pretty reliable.
The rear back box on this 2.0 CDX Auto Astra machine is about to give up the ghost.
Now being an Auto of 97 vintage, the rear box is fitted to the centre section via a flange/gasket 2 x springs and matching bolts. It isn't that cheap to replace, now the Manual cars had a standard sleeve/clamp fitting.
the question is...Can I buy a Flange adapter for a standard sleeve pipe?
Although I have been told that they do indeed exist, I can't seem to spot one?
many thanks

You can get a straight coupling which you use with 2 clamps - seen them on ebay.
Also available area straight couplings with different sized ends in case you need to join different size pipe.
