Title: Puddle Lights Post by PJDavis on Mar 23rd, 2012, 2:01pm I'm going to hopefully remove the puddle-lights from 'Aunty' and put them on 'Movvy'. Does anyone know if there are connections waiting for the puddle-lights to be plugged into, or will I have to connect them up myself via the door switches of each door? Also is there anything particular that I've got to 'watch-out' for when removing the door cards? Peter |

Title: Re: Puddle Lights Post by leewar on Mar 23rd, 2012, 7:42pm Hi Peter, Removing the door cards is simple and not thought provoking. The inner lining of the door is stuck on with a very sticky black substance which you could cut through to gain access to the inner skin. As for the puddle lights, when I removed them from my now defunct car, I found no connections so cut the wires to remove them. (If there were any connections I could not find them!!) Lee |

Title: Re: Puddle Lights Post by Tompion on Mar 23rd, 2012, 10:58pm Don’t over tighten the door pockets as the screws can pull through, although mine has thin large black washers between the pocket & the card (look original to me) that seem to stop that happening. There are some details here: http://www.fordscorpio.co.uk/doorlight.htm |

Title: Re: Puddle Lights Post by PJDavis on Mar 24th, 2012, 7:24am That is a very good explanation of retro fitting the puddle-lights. I need to change one of the door cards anyway and will look at how difficult it's going to be at the time. I just wish Ford had left the ready connectors from the earlier models so they could be retro fitted more easily. |

If you remove the lens to on one of the doors can you feel about or use a small miror to ascertain wheather the wiring is there. I do believe that on the Site there may be a picture showing the connector plug to the door frame and a description of how many pins there need to be for Puddle lights. Good luck |

It's a bit foggy just now, but the Sun should later burn the sea-harr off, I'm away to cut a mates tree down, it's a big bewty with a lot of fire-wood to be had! ;D |

May be a thin white layer underneath all the black so that the whole lot peels off still in one piece, well mine has, sticks back on afterwards as well. |

Title: Re: Puddle Lights Post by PJDavis on Mar 24th, 2012, 10:54pm It's a non-starter! Looked at the underside of Movvy's doors, and there is no cut-out for the lights! I'm NOT cutting holes in 'Movvy's' doors for lights! This was discovered about 7pm. :o |

Title: Re: Puddle Lights Post by Mike H on Mar 25th, 2012, 9:37pm Very interesting, mine has plastic blanking 'plugs'. Though wasn't there a point in production when they stopped doing puddle lights completely? Ergo no holes for them |

Title: Re: Puddle Lights Post by leewar on Mar 26th, 2012, 10:39am Remember reading that they stopped doing them on the '98s. |

Title: Re: Puddle Lights Post by PJDavis on Mar 26th, 2012, 10:47am Well, mines registered '98, but is a pre-facelift built in July '97. |
