Hi

Does anyone know the part number.... or which type of steering rack is fitted to a 1998 2.3 ultima?

Speed sensitive or standard?

AFAIK the speed sensitive rack is only on the 2.9 Cosworth.

Just checked the site and the details are Here (http://www.fordscorpio.co.uk/steermanual.htm). Seems it was an option on others except the Executive.

Tend to agree with Simmo,I've had numerous 2.3s,none of which had progressive steering,which has a little valve block attached to the rack near the steering column,if it ain't there it ain't speed controlled.

I'm sure my 1998 2.3 Ultima has the sensitive rack, and it was built in July 1997 and pre-facelift.
