Title: Re: closing of egr? Post by Nunnspoet on Apr 16th, 2012, 9:20am Hi Rob. I disconnected the EGR on my 24 valve Scorpio some 4 years ago. I used a 1p coin: One on the exhaust pipe and one on the inlet manifold and used the existing clamps to secure them, ;). Job done. Not having the EGR connected is not an MOT failure. It does not affect the cars performance or emmission readings. Remember to unplug the electric supply from the bulkhead, this will prevent the ECU from trying to operate the EGR. Best of luck Mike |

Title: Re: closing of egr? Post by Nunnspoet on Apr 16th, 2012, 9:31am Oops sorry Rob. I forgot to say "block the 2 rubber hoses" I screwed bolts into the open ends and pushed them out of the way of the exhaust manifold. 10min job. 8) Mike |

Title: Re: closing of egr? Post by Nunnspoet on Apr 16th, 2012, 12:23pm I completely removed the EGR and yup I did notice changes in performance. The EGR had failed and upon blocking the holes performance was restored as was my fuel consumption. ;D |
