Hi all
on our 24v the mirror has a big liquid smear. The mirror on our 2.3 is ok so want to swap over how do we do it safley. Do we just pull of the ball joint? or is it more complex than that.

Dan. Read the appropriate section Here (http://www.fordscorpio.co.uk/inttrimmanual.htm). NOTE the red ink!!. The diagram shows you how it fits BUT it comes off with a sharp DOWNWARD tug. DO NOT pull it IN towards the interior but grasp it with both hands and keep your knuckles against the screen as you pull it down. You of course need to disconnect the power lead and the connector is located behind the interior light. Release the interior light which gives access to the sun roof motor. Then push back the shroud to enable you to see the connector which is usually wrapped in sticky tape. The shroud is held in place with two screws and two clips . The clips are often quite stiff as they hold it on to the metal opening for the sunroof. The details are listed in the 'headlining' section on the same page. ;)

Note #1 - the auto dimming mirrors pack up with age and I believe are now as rare as rocking horse doo-doos.

Note #2 - the plain type is virtually equivalent to the Mondeo's one, same sticky pad. I.e. search for Mondeo interior mirror.

Right ok will do this asap. I have a auto dimming mirror in the 2.3 :D so a atraight swap there i think and just sell the 2.3 with a normal mirror?

Sounds easiest option to me yes. ;D

FYI the plain mirror's not at all bad TBH, just needs raising a mitt to work the manual tilt lever to dim it. ;D
