Hi all
Our scorpios heater blower (we think) is playing up. If we have a temprature set just say 18 it will blow fine then go off then on again every 20 seconds or so ??? also the lower the temp the harder and louder it blows ???
It might not be broken (Why i never posted on Problems Thread) but its annoying any way to fix or is it on its way out ???
1 more thing when its on there is a whinnig noise everytime we accelerate ???

There may be a fair chance that the SATC was fully operational in it's day,today it seldom is ::) in fact it is such a nuisance that a Lincolnshire chap on here,Stixy,was inclined to convert his cars to the standard system which is far more reliable and predictable.
I ran many Scorpio stretches in the funeral trade,and always preferred the latter without the clever extras,it does the job with very little trouble.I Think the cars badged 'Ultima' were always endowed with,or rather afflicted with the unnecessarily complex system,it was probably to attract wealthy buyers who couldn't be bothered to attend to their controls,and told their pals in the wine bar,all they needed to do was sit behind the wheel and the rest just happened ::)

I suggest you read This (http://www.fordscorpio.co.uk/aircon.htm). Climate control functions differently from Air Con and what you describe could just be the various sensors reacting to changes in conditions both inside and outside the car.

Yep suppose they did it looks better with all the gadgets and what not but its just more to go wrong i suppose ::)

Thats what ive been saying to my dad but he aint havin it ;D if the temp drops to below what you've asked for it will kick in again? Sound right?

OF course !!. That's what it's designed to do !!!!!!!!!!!!! ::) ::) Climate Control = maintain the Climate you've set so of course it will cut in and out as the situation changes both inside and outside the car. Even the 'sun sensor' on the top of the dash has an influence.
