Title: Re-Programme Door Lock?
Post by freddieboy on Nov 2nd, 2012, 5:21pm
I have just replaced a front n/s door complete, and wondered if there is any way I can get the original car remote to pair with the replacement door lock.  At the moment, the key fob will lock all doors, but will not unlock the replaced doorlock.   Any ideas folks?   cheers Freddieboy.

What was up with your door Freddie. Your car is immaculate.

Never heard of this before Fred. I think there must be a problem with the door lock mechanism or the wiring.

I changed a door module on mine a while ago, it didn’t require any programming.

Never heard of door locks being dependent on remote "code", as far as I have gathered from wiring diagram it's not that complicated, the motors are just motors.

If you unlock on driver's side with key, does passenger side unlock then? (Looking through window to passenger side, interior handle can be seen moving)

If not it's a bad connection in the plug

Appendix ~ if one front door lock stays locked, what tends to happen is it wants to lock all the others as well, because they are all cross connected with switches, makes it awkward getting it unlocked for long enough to be able to get in ~ guess how I know ;D ~ if not, that part of it isn't working either
