Hi everyone - planning to change the autobox filter in my 2.3, can anyone advise where I can get one, please?

I think Fords still sell them, you will need a shorter bolt, the new filters are thinner. You can always try ebay, but watch the price. To change the fluid I took one of the cooler pipes off, the return to the box so you change the oil in the cooler as well. You will need to run the engine to get it out this way.

Can anyone advise on which ATF I need - there seems to be so many types

Dextron III is what I use. However, Dextron II is adequate for the A4LDE on the Scorpio.

6 or 9 litres according to This article (http://www.fordscorpio.co.uk/aboxfilters.htm). Depends on whether you have a cooler fitted.The 'buttons' on the left of the page may have useful info for you as well. :)
