Title: rear brake pads worn,
Post by ro284 on Jan 5th, 2013, 1:27pm
Sounds as though my rear pads are getting worn, but there is no warning light on the dash, the manual i have is for an older model, should i have a light on? 95 2-9 estate,
cheers Bob

Bob, certainly my estate which is 2.0ltr 96 does not have wear indicator wiring for pads. :)

None of my scorpios have had wear indicators.

Even if the original fitment had the wiring installed, is it not the case that replacement pads may not necessarily have them?

scorpios did not have wear indicators and in fact ford deleted them on the last sierras it saved wiring and a module that gave trouble from job1 sierra and loads of complaints--someone probably realised that if owners either regularly went to main dealers for service, pads would be replaced ahead of time and those that didnt would need new pads and discs+labour all good for dealers profits. i retro fitted them on my 1991 sierra   but figured that scorp electrics are best left well alone
