???put on new maf. idle air control valve. cleaned out throttle control valve
checked cam shaft sensor

check the spark plugs for color as it could tell you if a coil pack is faulty
which i suspect it could be

I agree with Matt, my 2.3 was doing the same thing, found one of coil packs had packed up, changed it and alla well now.
