Title: Front wheel bearings Post by Vidal on May 9th, 2013, 12:38pm Hi chaps, my first time on and I need a little advice. Left the Scorps parked up for six weeks in the snow and rain while I worked in the middle east at the beginning of the year. Got back, jumped in drove off with the resounding but the familiar noise of rusty brake discs however the noise hadn't disappeared post a 40 mile trip home. It transpires that the front wheel bearings are shot thanks to the amount of moisture the car was subjected to. :-/ :-/ I am an aircraft engineer by trade and have worked on plenty of cars over the years including changing various wheel bearings. I have seen the Ford PDF for the wheel bearing cx and a little apprehensive that I may require the specialist tools to do the job whereas in the past a socket and a press have sufficed to push out and conversely seat the races. Am I over reacting? Great website by the way. |
