Title: Battery replacement.
Post by Simmo on May 9th, 2013, 12:46pm
I have just replaced the battery on my 2.0 ltr estate. The previous battery made by Varta was 8 years old and had never let me down until recently.  I opted for the same make and now have a slightly better unit, in fact one which would suit the Cosworth, 12v 74Ah 750 CCA. Varta E38.

I shopped around and finally ended up using This firm (http://www.batterymegastore.co.uk/). They were £26 cheaper than the best I could get at trade locally. Cost me £69, free delivery, ordered by phone at lunchtime yesterday, arrived at 11.00am today. Great service and staff.

The only point to note is that Varta no longer make any batteries with the 'Ford Style' lug fittings so I got a set of converters for £5 from Halfords...cheapest around..and they are perfect.  :)  No more spinning dials!!. ;D

I put that battery on my 24v three and a half years ago, still going strong but did cost £87.30 and that was said to be a good deal at the time
