Title: Crankshaft Pulley
Post by zomac on Jul 14th, 2013, 4:40pm
Hi Guys
Has anyone experienced problems with the crankshaft pulley/vibration damper splitting and coming loose from the main body on a 97 2.5TD, if so is it possible to replace without a puller ? does anyone have a spare for sale ?
Thanks in advance

Yes the pulley vibration damper does have a history of failing after a number of years. There are previous posts regarding this particular fault.

This page (http://www.fordscorpio.co.uk/manual/engines/tdi/TDIFOilSeal.pdf) describes the removal of the vibration damper

The whole of the 2.5 TD Manual isHERE (http://www.fordscorpio.co.uk/TDImanual.htm).

I am sure one of the TD owners will reply soon.

Thanks for that snoopy, Have any TD owners managed to change the pulley without pulling the rad ? As that ford part is not available anymore, will it budge with a crack !!
