Title: 1997 diesel exhaust
Post by bernard_slade on Aug 13th, 2013, 2:21am
crawled under my 1997 diesel auto estate for the first time today to do some waxoyling and was surprised to see twin mufflers as you expect to see on petrol models  it is all intact so no immediate problem but as i have a new single muffler system that i thought fitted all diesels waiting for the day i need a new one i am wondering if this was an engineering change or whether someone previously fitted a petrol twin muffler system that was to hand but it leaves me wondering whether the mountings had to be changed and whether the hooks are in the right place to revert to the single system when it is needed -anyone know about this anomaly ? i was waxoyling because ive just had new sills fitted and the rear cross chassis member rebuilt

All the hooks will be in the same place as they part of the basic shell. Only difference between them are how they connect from the engine.

that is great news assuming that the single system will bolt onto the cat of the twin box system  thanks matt
