Title: 24v oil pressure sensor
Post by myrs200 on Sep 4th, 2013, 7:22pm
Hi

I'm in the process of fitting a BOA into my TVR S and at the point of wiring the oil pressure sensor to to the warning light and gauge. Does the Granada have a gauge or just a warning light? I can only see one wire from the sendor and wondering how to connect this to the TVR warning light and gauge? Any ideas/information would be much appreciated

Regards

Mick

From memory when I had a Mk3 Granada it only had an oil pressure warning light - so 1 wire from the oil pressure sender.
You should be able to get a 'T' piece to fit where the oil pressure sender screws into the side of the cylinder block so you can connect both the sensor for the light and also the sensor for the gauge. I'm sure you can find these on ebay or through specialist motorsport parts suppliers.

Mick, you need to be on a Granada site for knowledgeable answers on the BOA.The Granadas I had as funeral vehicles had only a light. You could fit a T union into the oil switch orifice, and depending upon whether your TVR has a mechanical or electric gauge, screw a sender or a pipe into the spare orifice in the T piece.I think Matt on here is fairly Granada conversant, you could send him a PM and ask for his advice.

Yes T pieces are available, but the problem is there isn't a lot of room especially if using an electric pressure gauge.................

If you aren't running an A/C pump the easiest route is to grind a wee bit off the front mounting boss on the block and orientate the T so the oil sender fits facing around 10 - 11 o clock when viewed from the N/S  ;)

When you get the T you'll see what I mean  ;)

Don't be tempted to lengthen the T by using a threaded tube first, have seen this done lots, and they break with vibration  ;)
