Title: Same aircon pump in 12V and 24V ?
Post by Nestori on Sep 5th, 2013, 10:19am
Hi,

Just a quick question: Is the aircon pump (compressor) the same unit in 2.9l 12 valve and 24 valve engines when talking about Mk2 Scorpio?

The compressors on all these cars are the same, but the brackets and clutches differ, these can of course be swapped over.It is highly probable that all the v6s are the same because they all have a separate belt and the bigger diameter clutch, and as the 24v is an uprated Cologne,it would make sense for the bracket to be the same as well, since the block is the same.

Yes, exactly the same on 12v and 24v - so don't get stung with he Cosworth tax just because it says "Cosworth" in the listing.
