I always seem to have various clunks from the car as I go over uneven road surfaces.

In the past I have changed the front anti roll bar bushes, drop links, front wishbones, front shocks and strut top mount bearings.

For a very brief time after all that the clunks disappeared but they seem to keep coming back with avengence.

I'm beginning to wonder if some of the noise may not be the rear stabilizer links and anti roll bar bushes? I haven't changed these since getting the car in 2009.

The car gets through the MOT so they can't be shot (or they get missed on the test).

Any suggestions what to check first? I really would love to have quiet suspension...or am I being unrealistic in this day and age of pot holes and speedbumps? ;D

What engine is it?

Mine was clunking a lot, i found the gearbox mount was kaput and the engine was tilted back causing the main body of the cats (24v) to knock on the cross member.

Thing was that if you jack it up if looks ok (clearence) but the engine moves a lot when in motion

Never considered the engine mounts.....

It's a 2.0 litre

With the aid of an assistant (my 8 year old) we think the various clunks and noises are coming from the rear of the car...at least she claims they are noisier when sat in the back! ;D

Based on this, and given I have never changed them up to now, I'm wondering about the rear anti roll bar bushes and link arms.

I can find the stabiliser link arms on Ebay at about £24 for the pair, but cannot find the rear anti roll bar bushes.

Are these a Ford only part and if so does anyone know the Finis number? Or any other suggestions where to obtain some without the Scorpio premium markup that seems to exist on these cars? ::)
