Hi I have a 1996 scorpio that I would like to have the 3 button key,
can it be programmed to work ..

I'm not a fan of the separate 3 button fob.

You are very new on this forum. Tell us where you are from, and exactly what car and model you have, is it a 'key-fob' you need, or do you just need to know how to program the key-fob? Can you give us a VIN number, (chassis/vehicle number) We would like to help.

I beleive that there is a article on here somewhere about this and if I remember correctly there was a 3 button key remote from America that would work but it was for a different make of car or truck. I will try and look for it tomorrow evening for you but i am sure it was a couple of years ago and that you have to fiddlewith it in some way.

Peter I think he means a remote that is on the key like the modern fords and not the fob.

29i 12v im from colchester in essex .

i had a look on ebay and it lists the blanks below

Doesn't mention the transponder but it does say for a scorpio but the programming isn't specified.

Tread cautiously. Over the years many have tried to utilise different fobs and keys but I've never heard of a successful one yet. :(

The Scorpio uses a different infrared protocol for the remote from every other Euro Ford. I believe there were a couple of American makes that used the same protocol but finding the key/remote is like trying to find our remotes - i.e. like hens teeth.
