Title: Rear drop links
Post by Pegasus on Nov 24th, 2014, 9:19pm
Hi,
car passed MOT but inspector said the rear drop links showed some play - just a little, not enough to make an advisory. I have noticed a little knocking from rear occasionally so might go ahead and change them.

Couldn't see any mention of them in the suspension manual (http://www.fordscorpio.co.uk/suspensionman.htm) but seems fairly straightforward.

Has anyone changed them before? Easy? Things to note?

Ta

Paul

Assume you mean the link between the rear ARB & suspension arm ???
I've done these on my Sierra a couple of years ago - looks very similar to me.
The page for the 'Rear Suspension Stabiliser' shows the procedure although it seems to imply only for cars with self levelling suspension for some reason ???
The rubber bush is a tight fit over the 'mushroom' ends of the connection points and the pic shows it being refitted using adjustable pliers although I think I used something like a G clamp. Lubricating the rubber bush makes the job a lot easier.     ;)
