Title: Wishbone Pinch Bolt
Post by Tenfut on Mar 17th, 2015, 9:15am
Does this just knock out after removing the nut or is it screwed in?
TIA
Tony

It just knocks out.   But very often they're seized solid.   Ford still do new ones, I got one just the other day.   You've got to be careful how hard you strike the bolt/or wishbone because of damage to the ABS sensor.   I knew in advance when I was going to do the wishbone, (Just this Sunday passed) so I loosened the bolt and sprayed all round with WD, then soaked a rag in WD and wrapped it around the bolt and area it goes into.   Mine still needed to be smacked with a hammer back and forth before it came all the way out using a suitable brass-drift.

Job done. 5 hours drivers side 4 of which spent freeing the pinchbolt.
50 minutes passenger side because everything came out easily.
