Title: Brake Fluid Change
Post by PJDavis on Jan 13th, 2016, 10:33am
It's time the Brake-Fluid was changed on my 2.3, I'm just going to gravity bleed to change the fluid, does anyone know for sure whether I start from the nearest or furthest, or what is the sequence?   Anything to watch-out for?
Cheers
Peter

Hi Peter

The PDF is here:
http://www.fordscorpio.co.uk/manual/brake/BrakeBleed.pdf

It gives LF, RF, LR, RR.
As ever keep the jar above the bleed nipple & the pipe immersed.

I’ve never found the need for any special procedure re the ABS.
I always use an Eezibleed as I’m usually working alone.
I changed my brake fluid a couple of months ago and accidently let it pressure air right through a front cylinder ::) but cleared the air without any special action.

Thanks Dave.   I suspected it would be front-to-rear, as always the jar will be above the cylinder.    Gone are the days (because of ABS) that you could do a 'bleed' and then 'block' the brakes down.
Thanks
PJD
