Title: CD Player
Post by Tenfut on Mar 7th, 2018, 6:34pm
Now on my third CD player after the first two failed.

This one, when playing a CD and I switch off the engine mid track and then restart the engine it goes back to the beginning of the track every time  where the previous two just carried on where they left off.

Not a problem but curious as to what others do ???

Mine does the same as your first 2.

Looking at the wiring diagrams there's a 3amp fuse between the radio & CD. I don't know what it does but I wonder if it might be for memory. It's shown as an orange wire between pins 9 on both.
I know there's a fuse in the harness at the back of the radio but what it controls I don't know.

Hi Dave

As I said it doesn't bother me as long as it keeps playing the CD's, just thought it was strange as the previous 2 behaved differently. Also hope this one lasts a while yet as I only have one more spare.

As an aside do you know how to remove the alternator belt tensioner on the 24v as it has to come off to change the water pump.

Does 33 Here (http://www.fordscorpio.co.uk/manual/engines/24v/24VTimingChain.pdf) help?

Thanks Simmo

That picture would suggest there is just the one bolt holding it on :-/

Just afraid of opening a can of worms.
