Title: Mileometer reset
Post by brds on Jul 22nd, 2018, 3:06pm
I've had to change my 2.0L instrument cluster. The replacement unit is 40K miles more than the original one. Can anyone point me to a reset tool - preferably one that will run via an ELM.

Update:
I checked the replacement (from a 2.3L) for bad joints on the airbag connector and sure enough, they needed soldering. The inner plastic housing had dirt marks from various IC pins that had got hot so I put the fixing screws back with some small O-rings between the PCB and the housing. However, having had a good look, I believe the cracked joints on the airbag connector are simply because the bit of loom to that connector is very tight and consequently stressing the pins. I separated it to create some slack.
I'd still like to correct the mileage, if anyone can help.
Bob
