Title: Help with 2007 rds radio & cd changer
Post by Torbayboy on Aug 16th, 2018, 9:27am
Hi all - looking for help (again)

Looks like the 2007 radio as in my early cossie is a hard bunny to find.

I asked on here recently if anyone had a spare unit, to no avail - mine has lost it's voice. Do these have aseperate amplifiers as is the older Granadas (sorry to metion the "G" word)?

Anyone on here capable of fixing these units as at least 3 members need one .
Is there  a similar unit with cd changer capacity in any of the Ford lesser car range from around '95 that can be used?

Also anyone capable of fixing the 7000's displays as I have a little "family" of them.

I gave up on them and used the 5000 instead.

Thanks  Roy

I have a Sony MDX 690 in mine, sounds fantastic with the standard speakers and a sub.  ;D

Thanks for the information, makes worrying reading, I could get lost in there.

Incidentally the radio is not dead as I inferred but has a lot of crackle and needs high volume levels to get and sound from it.

It was fine when I used the car regularly but seemed only to work volume wise with a certain volume (No 6 used to clear a lot and was about right) either side of this the crackles and distortion set in.

Turned the car radio on last night for a short "taxi" journey and all was fine - for a while, so turned it off and listened to the cossie exhaust instead!
