Got a missfire at present. Have changed spark plugs but still it happens. So wanna find out what is causing it.

Thanks all.

Mac,
If you could get to Badger's Mount just off J4 on the M25 on Sunday we could scan you there.

You don't say what engine you have.  If it's a DOHC engine the first thing you should check is the Fuel Cut Off loom - the wires leading from the spark modules under the centre cover.  see http://www.fordscorpio.co.uk/dohcloom.htm

If its a 12V then we can't scan you because its OBDI not II - but check the rotor arm, distributor cap and leads.  If these are old they can have a marked effect on idle.

If it's a 24V check that the plugs are tight (but not too tight) and the condition of the HT leads - make sure there's no water inside the spark plug housings.  Further investigation may reveal a problem with the HO2S sensors or the EGR - and this would need OBD to find.
