hi there

1151 is a lambda issue on bank 2. check the wiring to it and/or replace the sensor, as required.

Thanks Sorpio man, I dont know if it would make any difference but  my car is on lpg and i think that it flashes that code when it changes over from petrol to lpg but not sure. I will check the conections in the morning and let you know. Do you know how much i should be paying for the sensors  and the best place to get them from
Thanks for all the help

hi there

http://www.cats-direct-shop.co.uk/lambda-sensors.php
it's the 4 wire one you need. you have to change the plug from your old one over.

what sort of lpg kit do you have? i get the 1131 code because the sensor is switched off when i'm on gas ( run rich if it's operating :-/).

give it a check first as i've heard they can be a pain to change on the 24v.

Hi Scorpio man thanks for the info
do you think that it could be the lpg system as i replaced the lambda on my previous lpg converted vw sharan and i still had the same lambda code coming up when i scaned it.
The lpg kit I have on my car is the Romano Sequential Vapour Injection system with twin vaporisers. I only had it fitted 4 months ago

Hi there,

Not sure that it would be the LPG system cos then you would expect to see the code on both banks. I have a Landi sequential system fitted to mine and if I get a chance later today I'll put the cable on and check for codes but certainly don't remember any on the last cossie.

Barrie,
I have scanned a 24V while it was running on LPG - both HO2S sensors continued to switch after a very period on switchover - perhaps it was this that the OBD detected.  I timed the system I had as zero activity for 4.6 seconds before the sensors started switching again.  If yours was the same then it is enough to set the P1151 code.
If the car is running okay then I wouldn't worry about this single DTC.  If you have our OBD lead then you could clear the DTC and see how long it takes to reappear.  You could also log both the HO2S11 and 12 sensors as the car is running and see what the switching is like.  If they are normally lively then I wouldn't change anything.

What scan tool do you use?  Our Vehicle Explorer doesn't show the P1151 code like that, it shows the correct Ford text.

Thanks Eric
I think it is either as it switches over to lpg or if i put my foot down when the lpg is very  low in the tank, as the car just holds back on me. But when i have a reasonable amount in the tank it goes like a race horse. The car drives ok but it is not as powerful when this code is on, when i clear it seems a lot faster. I purchased my lead from Alex Pepper and it is the Ford Explorer, could it be that i have the wrong software?
I will rescan it tomorrow and see what it comes up with, and will try to figure out how to scan the HO2S11 and 12 sensors as i haven't had my lead long and just a learner lol
All the best Barrie

Barrie,
on Alex Peper's site download the ford Enhanced file as well as the Ford non-standard files shown in the drop down lists, and make sure Ford is shown on the code page.  Log in to the PCM and make sure the Auto-Reconnect box is ticked.

To scan the HO2S sensors click on the DATA page, select PID Possible and the list of sensors appears.  Select HO2S11, 12, 21 and 22, then LTFT1 and LTFT2, RPM and MPH.  While the scan is running drive the car round the block and then click on 'End' A dialog box will open asking for a name of the scan, enter barr24V as the file name.

When you replay the scan you can graph the sensors and check how they are performing.   You could zip the 3 scan files together and post them on the Anyboard site where others can download them and check them out.
