I have a FDS 2000 system, Ford's diagnose computer. I wonder if someone here is used to work with this computer, because I have some questions.

1. How much can you change on the car with the FDS 2000?

2. Under the menu special or something like that, doesn’t know that it's called in the English version, I have found some alternatives like update and a few other titles. When trying to start the update program I need some kind of key. I haven't found any key in the papers that came with my FDS 2000 system. Does anyone have these keys or are they special for each separate machine?

3. Is it possible to change the spark advance?

I am just curious to know what the computer can do. I have Escort, Sierra and Scorpio at home, for the moment I was think for the Sierra.

But still I am interested to know what the update program does and if anyone has the key code needed.

not sure if it can change 'running settings', like the timing, etc. :-/

re the key, could it be that it needs to connect to ford to get the update first, hence the key(or password)? as far as i know, you need to load the fsd2000 with a different module for every different task/car.

that's about all i know about it. one of our members has one (or two) of them, but i don't know how much work/time he's spent with it.

Yea it's correct that you load a program for each test you want to preform. But to access the update program I need a password, other test are no problem to preform.

THe guy with the FDS is Baz in Warrington.
