Hi, has anyone bought one of the handheld obd scanners off ebay? looking at one at the moment and was wondering if anyone has bought one and if they are any good they seem very good value for money.

I thought they were'nt a bad price, but the EEC IV version doesnt have the 16 pin plug for the Scorp, only 3 and 5 pin for Granadas etc.If you have EEC V it could well be worth a whirl !

I bought an Autel handheld scanner from an American Ebay seller for £25.00 (inc postage) a couple of years ago & it works fine  :)

It bought up a couple of codes on the Scorpio, which are now fixed  ;)....& also, friends with new shape Mondeos, Focus's, Peugeots etc are always asking me to plug it in to their cars when a dash light comes on, or they feel something is wrong...& it usually brings up a fault code or two :)

That,s a bargain, dont suppose you've still got sellers details ? or was it for OBD 2 only ? Only two of mine are EEC V,the rest are EEC IV !

Dont know if this will help eec-iv owners but i found a scanner for this that displays the code rather then lights/beeps, it is for obd 1 but i couldnt find out if it done my scorpio 12v 12.9, and a really good price from america,  take a look at THIS (http://www.bestbuyautoequipment.com/Equus_Products_EPI3145_p/epi3145-03.htm)
if you search for this scanner you will see it comes with the 16 pin connector ( or it can be purchesed as an extra) As i said im no mechanic but i thought and was curious if this may help.
