Hi,

Has anyone purchased this item on Ebay ELM327 USB CAN Code Reader E-OBD-2 Scanner Diagnostic from a-tech-diagnostics? It is listed at £26.99 + £4.99 P&P it comes complete the 16 pin connector for the car the other end to the diagnostic unit then another cable with 2 usb connections to fit from diagnostic to laptop and to finish off the CD with the programme to interprut the data. User Instructions

1 Download the shareware scantoo_net in your laptops and PCs.
2 Run it and follow the prompts to allow it to install it own.
Note: You have to install software on your PC's hard disk,it will not run properly if you try to use it directly from a floppy or CD. However, you can use a floppy or CD to move the distribution file from a PC with internet access to another PC that does not have internet access.
3 Connect the interface between the computer and the car by plugging one end of the interface into a Serial (RS232) or USB port on your PC and the other end directly into the OBD-II port present in all 1996 and newer OBD2 passenger vehicles.
4 Please turn the car's ignition switch ON. you dont need to start the engine.
5 Please Start the software program, click "Options", you need to select the correct communications port, please use "Test" to confirm that the program can use the port and find the interface. Then "Save".
6 Now it should work, please ,ake sure the software can reliably access all the control modules that it should in your car.

7 you can read diagnostic trouble fault codes, both generic and manufacturer-specific, and display their meaning (over 3000 generic fault code definitions in the database). ? Clear fault trouble fault codes and turn off the MIL ("Check Engine" "Service soom"light) ? Show current sensor data, including: o Engine RPM o Calculated Load Value o Coolant Temperature o Fuel System Status o Vehicle Speed o Short Term Fuel Trim o Long Term Fuel Trim o Intake Manifold Pressure o Timing Advance o Intake Air Temperature o Air Flow Rate o Absolute Throttle Position o Oxygen sensor voltages/associated short term fuel trims o Fuel System status o Fuel Pressure

I'm looking to purchase one but I'm interested if anyone has any feedback about this produt good or bad. Most of the postings here list a www.obd-2.com link where the software is free once a lead is purchased.

Hi
I have this outfit at present and It works ok on the Scorp for engine diagnostics. It won't however read ABS or the autobox codes. It works well on most cars to be honest but only on Engine Electronics.

i have one aswell worked great on my 2.3 and my mates modeo 2.0 also is 2.5 but no joy with my cossie any idears, dave

sounds like you have a faulty pin on the obd socket. make sure they're all straight, etc.

Well I have one and it reads the Jag codes no bother.
