if the pats is playing up will the car turnover but not start .but not show on the obd

Can’t speak for all circumstances, but if you use an unchipped key or wrap the key in foil the PATS light flashes. If you try to start the engine the dash lights stay on (I think they stay on) the radio goes off but the engine doesn’t turn.

You may need to shield the PATS light to see it flashing in daylight.

With an unchipped or wrapped key there will be a fault code – assuming you have a lead that can read PATS.
