Title: Re: Found my car! Post by Vulcan on Sep 16th, 2004, 5:22pm John if you want to take some nice pics in the normal way then send them up to me, I'll scan them in for you at a suitable resolution for the web and post the whole lot back on a CD. I can then give you a simple walkthrough of how to set them up in an album on Photobucket site for the world to peruse. ;D No rush... at your leisure.. regards George |

Title: Re: Found my car! Post by john.n on Sep 17th, 2004, 7:42am Cheers George, i will try to get round to that asap. Des is the system on your Sat-nav. Tom-Tom? this is the one i have been looking at as its voice guidance. Also how do you input the post codes? Is it with a stylus?. I also looked at the Tom-Tom Go system which is touch screen but dont know if this is by stylus or with your finger(preferable). john.n |

Title: Re: Found my car! Post by scorpio_man on Sep 17th, 2004, 12:54pm hi there posted this before. if (big if) you're travelling with your laptop, then this is a great sat nav. http://www.directions.ltd.uk/moreinfo.php?id=3140 now i know it's not as convenient as a 'proper' system but at only £115, it's a bargain! as i said, if you've got your laptop with you,.....well you might as well use it. |

Title: Re: Found my car! Post by Baz on Sep 17th, 2004, 6:34pm Stick a ford travelpilot in. Fits where the 7000 radio goes, doesn't cost anywhere near the figures shown above and it looks the part. Just my opinion of course Baz |

Title: Re: Found my car! Post by john.n on Sep 18th, 2004, 8:53am The trouble is finding one at the right money Baz- too expensive to buy new. john.n :( |

Title: Re: Found my car! Post by Baz on Sep 18th, 2004, 9:06am Quite true, but I got mine off Ebay. Brand new in a box from a nice man in Germany. I think I paid about £450. There have been a few sold lately on Ebay and the dearest one sold was about £400. There have been a few of the VNR9000s as well (the ones with the colour screens). The last VNR went for £380 or so plus the wiring is easier to sort on the VNR and is still pretty reasonable and looks the part ratherv than having some a PDA stuck to your windscreen Baz |
