Title: Transit Vs Scorpio
Post by JohnJ on Oct 16th, 2004, 7:49pm
Today I have drove a high cube Transit all day and to be honest it was guttless....

I was moving furniture from a holding place to my Parents in laws new home, I moved the furniture there origonaly with a very large twin axel trailer which must of weighed the same as a car with the Scorpio 2.3.

Now I moved the stuff into there new house today with a Transit van....The bloo omin thing was useless. 'it would'nt pull a cat off a stool' is what I say up hill at 50mph in 5th, 4th, oh dear 40mph into 3rd and rev hard and black smoke every where...oil burner.

Now the Scorpio pulled the same load in a half tonne trailer up hill and pulled strong and only stayed in 3rd till it got to 60mph and then 4th easily. Only it was alot harder to stop...but how can the Scorpio out pull the Transit ;D....

The Transit was very Compident when empty but thats not much good.

Just another rant! ::)

Was it a white one? If so it was obviously a white van man reject because they all go well enough..... otherwise you put too much stuff in it... and made too heavy ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

Was it an old-ish Tranny John? The newer ones are a bit quicker these days.
Mind you, the engine technology in the Transit is a little bit behind the rest of the field these days.
And... I think the Transit probably still might weigh a wee bit more than the Scorpio  :-/
Or... as Snoopy says, it could just be a dud.

Yeap thinking back on it now it had 150,000miles done and it was a 2000 model, but it had been around the world so I wont rant about it I'll respect it instead. ;D
