never have a hands free phone kit?

Just check next time you see a merc or a range rover or something. Always driving with the phone stuck to their ear.

Company vans are another one. They should come as standard with a handsfree kit or prosecute the companies for it as well as the drivers. Unfortunately there are not enough coppers to enforce the phone law anymore because they are all on money counting duties generated from the speed cameras (oops sorry...."SAFETY CAMERAS"!)

i totaly agree if they can afford a new merc/bmw ect the extra to have a phone kit installed would not kill em.

I imagine they feel they can afford the fine, and if they lose their licence they can hire limo. I'd rather keep my licence and my scorpio.

...I find that many of the people who drive these expensive cars can't even afford indicators,...BECAUSE THEY NEVER SEEM TO USE THEM!

So, I doubt whether they would even be aware of hands-free kits!

Oh they do know about indicators.. it's just that they know them as Auxiliary Parking Lights and they flash all four and use them to stop on double yellow lines ;D

Maybe they got the whole thing mixed up, and think they where told by law to use the

"hands free indicators" but they dont work! ;D

I usually find people with new cars can't drive! Maybe they think if they buy a new enough car, it will drive for them? Generally they can't operate the indicators with one hand on their mobile phone. Round our way is a posh public school (which I pass going to work) don't get me started on the parents dropping their kids off right outside the gates every day, in their huge 4x4s, hazard lights flashing stopped in the middle of the road......someone pass me the valium. ::) ;)

Perhaps some are affected by SRD (slow reflex disorder):

I drove around Wilmslow the other day with my business partner and we counted 17 people driving while using phones, 14 of them were single women and 11 of them were driving Merc or BM convertibles or similar expensive things, 2 were blokes driving artic lorries and the other was a bloke in a Sierra. This was all in the space of half an hour. But of course the police are all on speed camera courses and don't need to actually go out any more except to change some film now and again so no one actually gets caught anymore.

I do see an awful lot of girls/women driving while using mobiles and dropping off their kids in huge 4x4s as well!!

What gets me about the dropping kids off bit, is that they have the attitude that you should wait for them, despite me leaning on my horn (though the van horn is somewhat naff and they probably can't move their cars for laughing so much at it's strangled warble ;D).
