Title: Re: Digital Cameras Post by Baz on Nov 6th, 2004, 9:03pm I use a Fuji Finepix S7000 12 million pixel (6 million recorded!) currently retailing about £300.00 but can be bought cheaper on Ebay. The W1 is a good camera as well and a quick search lists retail prices of around £228.00 The S7000 runs on normal AA batteries (unlike the other Fuji ones I have) and can also take a 4gig microdrive or up to a 1 gig compact flash card. I have always prefered the Fuji cameras but I do own an old model Sony that takes floppy discs but also takes an age to down load the pictures. The W1 is a good camera but i personally would choose a Fuji everytime. (Just my opinion of course!) With the S7000 you can also add different filters and lenses to make a more proffessional type of camera baz |

Title: Re: Digital Cameras Post by Paul B on Nov 6th, 2004, 9:07pm Don't know what the Sony's like Michael, but I have the Canon Digital Ixus400 which is brill. That one is 4 megapixels, but there is now a 5 megapixel version of the same camera. Surprise, surprise its called the Canon Digital Ixus 500 ::) Other than the resolution, I believe its identical. |

Craig's right there. We'll all come up with something different, but ultimately its down to your personal preference. |

Title: Re: Digital Cameras Post by nick on Nov 7th, 2004, 6:27pm Try your local duty free shop, someone must be travelling you know. I work at Newcastle Airport in the duty free and have just bought the new fuji s3500. I could not buy cheaper anywhere than the price at work, and I got a free 64mb card and case for only £125. Ok its only 4m pixels, but what more do you need, and its a 10x optical zoom and a 4x digital. But we all remain brand lloyal, wich is why we all drive fords Nic |

Title: Re: Digital Cameras Post by gadgetmandb on Nov 12th, 2004, 2:37pm I own a sony 3.2 million pixle camera and get Out of this world pictures when printing up to A3 or printing borderless A4 on a Epson R200. Once I have printed one of my pictures at top spec i challenge anyone to tell the difference between that and a digitaly printed image. If you are going to be constantly printing Poster size images then go fro a 5 million pixle camera if not then a 3.2 / 4 mp camera will certanly be good enough. Try www.pixmania for a decently priced camera. if you want something that will do as a accident witness then argos are doing cheap cameras which are just up to the job for £50.. Hope this helps |

Title: Re: Digital Cameras Post by gadgetmandb on Nov 12th, 2004, 2:44pm Try the SONY CyberShot DSC-P73 @ £152 for superb results or if you want to push the boat out, instead of going for the W1 try the CANON EOS 300D + EF-S18-55 The 300D is the digital reflex accessible for all kind of users. Solid and complete, with an amazing 6.30 Megapixels CCD, a DIGIC chip and a 1/4000... Basicaly it is a digital SLR camera, I have the equivilent 35mm standard film one and every picture is perfect. Retails at about £640 |
