Title: Death Of A Scorpio.
Post by waders on Dec 1st, 2004, 5:17pm
This is in memory of M553 WHJ who passed away to the breakers yard today :'(

Said car and myself never saw eye to eye >:(. I never liked her, though I do not know why :-/.

It broke constantly :(, I fixed it. ;)

I bought another a while back ;D (I like this one) and I think she gave in ???.

I miss M553 now she's gone, I do not know why!!

I hope some of her goes to nice new homes ;)

R.I.P M553 WHJ :'(

:( :( :( :( :(

Most noble of you to allow vital parts of your loved one to  be  used  so  that  other  Scorpios  may  live.

How   much  did   the scrappy give  you    for the  old  b****r!

The scrappy saved me £80 fine for no tax as of today as I have no off road parking and I'm going back for some parts i've listed for him (fuse boxes, relays), not that I need any parts right now but.......................

HI :D,
This is the list of repairs that would have been needed to keep her alive :o (and all this has failed since i got "new" Scorp ???).

:- ::)
Steering rack.
Gear box (auto)
Front wishbone bushes
Front link arms (wich I bought, now ready for new one)
New cat
Down pipes starting to blow
Discs and pads.
Set of tyres.

I would think this is by no means a comprehensive fault list, only what I was aware of........ engine still purred but throttle linkage siezed solid 3 days ago :-/. I'd been starting her every other day in some vain hope........

I only used this car for 1 year, it had NO history from 90.000 to when i got it at 132.000. It had 170.000 at the end.

Scrappy  gave  you  £ 80  !!  for the  whole  car ?

I  bet  he'll  recoup  that  selling  1  headlamp lens or  1 radiator leccy  fan  to  the  local   Scorpio   fraternity.

Robbing B******s  (  I mean that in a caring way  )

Someone hit my Scorp sunday eve :o............

I had to buy back 300 quids worth of parts from M533,  my old car :-/.............

Although the breaker striped and replaced almost everything infront of the front wheels including the bonnet :'(................

And he did it today while I waited ::).....................

And I didn't need to find any parts ??? ....................

For some reason that is as yet beyond me :-/...............

The name Murphy is strong in my mind ;)...................

:( ;D :( ;D :(

Ouch.

The scorpio does command a better price as a whole car to a breaker especially if the headlights, remote etc.etc. is in place as they bring top dollar. Would have been best to break it yourself if you had room.
